Morrinsville and Te Aroha

The Morrinsville and Te Aroha area is well known for its natural hot water soda springs, gold mining and mountain hiking and biking trails.

Mt Te Aroha is the highest point in the Kaimai Mamaku Forest Park. Featuring old tramways and abandoned gold mines the Kaimai Heritage Trail that runs through the park showcases the rich mining and kauri logging history of the area.

The Edwardian Spa Town of Te Aroha at the base of its namesake is home to the world's only known Hot Soda Spring geyser. The geyser, which sprouts 4 meters into the air every 40 minutes, is sourced from a spring deep under the bush-clad mountain.
